Our first requirement was to research the school and its context. We interviewed key staff to understand key issues and to see if they had a similar view of the school going forward. We asked how staff, students, parents and the architects understood the new direction of the school.

These discussions formed the basis of our understanding. We devised mood boards to visually explore initial thoughts and ideas. Some of our early concepts embraced the building, or an iconic M or creative expression. These helped us identify routes that felt most appropriate and which had potential for future development.

Our approach follows a simple process (opposite) that takes the client and ourselves through a number of phases where ideas, developments and uses are explored and refined.
